I posted this on my other blog too, but I had to share. He's too cute.

Harry Potter, and a question about a cat

(Still no spoilers, don't worry.)

So, I still haven't managed to put together my thoughts on the last Harry Potter book enough to write them down. There were parts I loved, and a few that fell a little flat. I started rereading the whole series, now that I know the end, just to see how everything fits together. Maybe I'll make a post after I'm done with that . . . I don't know.

I think I may partly be having trouble organizing my thoughts because my first read of the book was really fragmented, between needing sleep, and not being able to read in the car, and everything else. I loved the release party, but I think I would have enjoyed reading the book more if I could have sat down and read it in one sitting like I did with book 6. But, it's not going anywhere, so I'll just have to read it again!

I'm actually posting because I want to tell you guys about (and I can't believe I'm even saying this)--our cat. Yeah, looks like my mom picked up a stray cat while I was at college. He's just a kitten, really, the vet says he's about six months old, and he's scrawny and crosseyed and full of energy. He doesn't seem to bother my allergies much, either, which is weird. I can pick him up and pet him just fine. Maybe it's because he's short haired? He's really cute, and I think I've fallen completely in love with him. After a few false tries at a name and getting his sex wrong once, Mom just started calling him Kitty, or Ki-Ki. I thought that was all well and good for a kitten, but what kind of name is Ki-Ki for a grown up boy cat? So I decided his full name is Sir Christopher the Cat.

Anyway, I don't have any experience at all with cats--we always had dogs while I was growing up. Is it possible to train them? I don't mean, like, sit, stay, roll over. I'm thinking more along the lines of, "It's okay to bite the toy, but it's not okay to bite the human." His antics are adorable, but I draw the line at pain. Is this something he'll grow out of, like puppy bites, or do we need to take care of it before it becomes a bad habit? (If it isn't already a bad habit . . .) I haven't the faintest idea how to make him stop.

Wanna see what he looks like?
