I'm still alive! Kicking around my vacation and enjoying it very much. Not much to say, though--I've been relaxing and visiting, that's all.

But, I wanted to pause to drop a link to one of Eric Burns's latest posts over at Websnark, in which he advocates responsible parenting. Good for him! I'm all for involved parenting--I don't think it'll cure cancer and solve world hunger, but in a lot of cases, it's the most obvious and often neglected solution.

However, I think just as important is the concept that parents should not only be responsible, but that parental responsibility should replace government interference. That one, I think, deserves a very hearty "AMEN!" because it emphasizes the effect on people who aren't parents, or even children. It's good to hear someone advocating personal responsibility, in an age where coffee cups have to have, "Caution! Contents may be hot!" printed on the side.

(Edit: On further reading, the comments on this post are almost more interesting than the post itself--if you bother to click through at all, I'd recommend looking at them!)

Also, while I'm linking blog posts, another one that caught my interest today was Howard Taylor's thoughts on "Wii" over on Blógünder Schlock. I think he raises some good points . . . but even if it is a good marketing, I still say it's an idiotic name. For serious.

Today was a good day for blogs . . . which makes me happy, because all the blogs I read seem to have hit a kind of dry spell lately. Can anybody recommend anything interesting? You guys have probably seen enough of me to know my interests, by now.
